Leer de basistechnieken van vogelanatomie en hoe deze kennis toe te passen. Zo kun je levensechte vogels creëren in je tekeningen en schilderijen. Kies een van de opgezette vogels in het museum, volg de stappen en technieken van wetenschappelijke illustraties en kijk hoe de vogel verschijnt op je papier!
Deze workshop draait vooral om vorm en textuur van vogels in grafiet. Voor papier en potloden wordt gezorgd, maar je kunt uiteraard je eigen favoriete tekenmaterialen meenemen.
Learn the basics of bird anatomy and how to apply this knowledge to create lifelike birds in your drawings and paintings. Choose one of the taxidermy birds from the museum and, by following the steps and techniques used in scientific illustration, see how the bird emerges on your paper.
As the workshop focusses on the shape and texture of birds in graphite, pencils and paper will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own preferred materials, like watercolors or colored pencils, to the workshop.
Seungha Oh en Suzanne Stelwagen
De workshop wordt gegeven door twee wetenschappelijk illustratoren: Seungha Oh en Suzanne Stelwagen. Beiden studeerden aan de Master Scientific Illustration in Maastricht. Hun werk is momenteel te zien in de tentoonstelling Van Potlood tot Pixel.
Daarvoor studeerde en werkte Seungha in de kunstwereld en als boekillustrator. Suzanne heeft een achtergrond in biologie (WUR).
The workshop will be given by scientific illustrators Seungha Oh and Suzanne Stelwagen. Both studied at the master scientific illustration in Maastricht. Their work is also part of the exhibit Van Potlood tot Pixel. Before this, Seungha studied and worked in fine arts and book illustration. Suzanne has a background in biology and animal development.
